(À PARTE) White Arinto + Sercial DOC Bucelas Bio 2021
Description
Bucelas is where we produce our white and sparkling wines. North of Lisbon, in the Trancão River Valley, this Demarcated Region, which has been in operation since 1911, produces unique wines in small quantities, much like the Carcavelos and Colares regions. The clay and limestone soils produce white wines with a citrus color, fruity flavors and aromas, and acidity typical of this region's preferred grape variety: Arinto.
Arinto and Sercial
Vine cultivation in Bucelas was introduced by the Romans probably around 200 BC. Respecting this region's history of producing excellent wine, Biogrape makes its history producing the first organic DOC Bucelas wine of the modern era.
Produced at Quinta do Casal da Cruz, in perfect harmony with nature, it is the result of enormous dedication and passion that transformed grapes into wine (À PARTE).
This limited production is the result of meticulous work. The grapes were selected from specific plots of the vineyard with unique characteristics that we have studied over the years. Vinified with as little intervention as possible, the grapes are destemmed and pressed with minimal contact with oxygen to prevent oxidation of the must. The Arinto and Sercial grape varieties are fermented separately in order to understand their characteristics and potential.
The wines are aged for between 10 and 12 months before bottling. Once bottled, they are left to rest for at least 12 months before being released onto the market.
