Like all the best conversations, the one between the main distiller and the Cork Franciscan Well Brewery brewer starts at the bar. A whiskey and beer keg swap soon after resulted in the Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition - triple-distilled and blended Irish whiskey that was patiently finished in Irish craft beer kegs.
An initial aroma of freshly cut hay is complemented by a lively fruit from the orchard - green apples and pears, with a hint of lemon zest. Sweet and light spices still appear, from green tea to milk chocolate and hazelnuts.
The initial texture, sweet in the mouth, typical of the Irish still, is quickly complemented by the subtle touch of hops and cocoa beans from the beer keg.
