Dr. Loosen Erdener Treppchen Riesling Spätlese Mosel 2020 - 75cl
Description
THE WINE
Dr. Loosen
Dr. Loosen's Erdener Treppchen Riesling Spätlese wines are lightly sweet, with a moderate alcohol content, distinguished by their full-bodied structure, depth, and complexity.
The Erdener Treppchen designation refers to the stone steps that facilitate workers' access to the vineyards located on the hillside. The red slate soil gives the wines a remarkable complexity and minerality. Recently, the vineyard underwent a reorganization, revealing an ancient Roman press at the base of the hill.
The Spätlese classification, meaning "late harvest," indicates that the grapes remained on the vine for an additional week or two, allowing for greater ripening and the development of deeper flavors compared to Kabinett. Erdener Treppchen Spätlese comes from a true "grand cru" vineyard in the village of Erden.
This high-quality wine is produced in accordance with sustainable agricultural practices, respecting strict German environmental regulations.
"Concentrated and sweet on the palate, with a succulent texture, this Spätlese is intense, dense and structured, based on super ripe and concentrated fruit. An excellent and substantial wine that demands patience."
