Château des Laurets 2018 Puisseguin Saint-Émilion - Baron Edmond de Rothschild
Description
Situated on the limestone plateau of Puisseguin, on south-facing slopes, Château des Laurets lies in one of the most beautiful terroirs of the Puisseguin Saint-Emilion appellation. Baron Benjamin de Rothschild acquired and renovated this magnificent property in 2003, with the aim of developing its full potential. This excellent terroir gives the Merlot of Saint-Emilion all its power and typicity. Progressively, higher up on the plateau, Cabernet Franc gains space to add more complexity and elegance to the blends.
"Notes of cooked blackberries, plum compote and dried cherries, for this wine with a lively finish." - Robert Parker
COLOR
The color is a bright purple-red.
NOSE
On the nose, the notes of dark fruit are intense, with plum predominating. An elegant spicy touch is followed by a note of licorice.
MOUTH
The attack on the palate is straightforward. The impression of crisp black fruits is very present. This is followed by a subtle sequence of very ripe fruits, such as plum. The overall finish is long, not overly opulent, but rich in a fine, compact, and very clear tannic structure. The slightly toasty note underpins this very pleasant wine.
Finally, the hint of licorice returns, just as it does on the nose.
