Le Dix has a beautiful intense, bright, deep red colour.

The nose is complex, with aromas of black cherry, ripe strawberry and plum, underscored by a hint of oak, with delicate notes of cedar, graphite and dark chocolate.

On the palate, this great vintage is revealed in all its splendour, with soft, firm tannins and, thanks to the cool nights at Los Vascos, some acidity to accompany this balance.

Without doubt one of the best vintages of the decade.

It was in 1988 that Les Domaines Barons de Rothschild acquired Viña Los Vascos.

VINEYARD SITUATION

Denomination: Colchagua Chile
The vineyard extends from the coastal mountain range to the Andes Mountains.
The Mediterranean climate and the exceptional terroirs of this area make Colchagua a unique region for the quality of its wines.
The Los Vascos farm is located at the foot of the coastal mountain range, 200 km southwest of Santiago, in the coldest area of Colchagua where the vineyards benefit from the natural freshness coming from the Pacific Ocean.

Terroir :
Le Dix comes mainly from a batch of old Cabernet Sauvignon vines called El Fraile, which means the Monk.
Nestled in the heart of the vineyard, the vines are planted with high density and produce grapes of great quality and remarkable concentration.
The lot is completed by a selection of Syrah and Carménère that bring great complexity to the wine.
