A blend of 44% Merlot, 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot, this wine has a beautiful, luminous deep color with a nose rich in ripe fruit.
The palate reveals butter cream and strawberries, raspberries and vanilla, licorice-mint, new oak and grilled meats, coffee with fine tannins.
Lots of acidity and good long tannins.
A man's effort with an excellent price-quality ratio.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2014 Chasse-Spleen has an attractive bouquet, more advanced than I expected, full of aromatic red berries, toasted bread and aromas of brown spices. The palate is of medium body with flexible tannin, a fine drop of acidity and a recommendable volume. Perhaps it doesn't provide the freshness and precision I was anticipating after its presentation in the primeur, although I do appreciate the marmalade note that complements the black fruit in the structured finish.
A wine to keep an eye on.
